This beautiful piece sounds like Guqin music (古琴), Chinese zither with 7 strings. In fact it is performed on Guzheng (Chinese harp with 21 strings) by Liu Fang who is best known as the virtuoso of the pipa (Chinese lute). The title is "Chanting of Tiema" (Tie Ma Yin 鐵馬吟) composed by Zhao Dengshan (趙登山) is one of the most excellent pieces composed in the 80s. This piece is full of spirit of the traditional classical style of music. It is said that the inspiration was related to a temple in a mountain. Tiema contains pieces of metals (Buddhist prayer bells) hanging on the roof outside of the temple. It produces special sounds when wind blows. The composition of this piece catches beautifully a sense of the tranquility and an image of being in nature - the spiritual inspiration of this piece makes it a good choice for meditation.
