Samsung Frig with Ice Build Up. This can be a temporary solution to alleviate the ice build up. By turning off the compressor/condensor and manually PRESSING ENERGY SAVE & POWER FREEZING at the SAME TIME for a few seconds. NEXT PRESS and HOLD the POWER COOL - results in turning on the power cooling fan for the preset 2.5 hrs it will defrost the ice build up with no fuss. The frig still maintains a cool temp, possibly a degree warm up (38F to 39F). No need to empty the frig. REMEMBER TO TURN THE FRIG BACK ON after the 2.5 hrs by PRESSING and HOLDING THE SAME TWO BUTTONS on the LEFTSIDE of the control panel that turned the compressor/condensor off. If necessary, after the power cool fan times out after 2.5 hrs, turn the power fan back on for another 2.5 hrs by pressing and holding the power cool button. I believe the heating element or it's control may be out on my frig. This method will effectively use the fan to defrost the Frig. I have been using this method for maybe 4 or 5 months. I only use it about one a month in the humid summer. When I get time, I will take the Frig apart, get the appropriate component, and repair the Frig. I hope this is the issue and that it is a not a design issue which will not keep up with the family's usage in the summer. Sidenote, I had an issue with the ice maker and Samsung made it very clean that I was on my own. They did offer to set up an expensive service call if I wished.
