It takes wisdom to have a good family, and it takes understanding to make it strong. Proverbs 24:3 (NCV)

One Thing I Know About The Perfect Family Is: No Such Thing

People who dont take care of their relatives, and especially their own families, have given up their faith. They are worse than someone who doesnt have faith in the Lord. 1 Timothy 5:8 (TEV)

God raises the dead to life and creates new things. Rom 4:17b (CEV)

To Build A God Honoring Healthy Family

1. I Have To Put My Family Second.
Jesus said: " `Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. Matthew 22:37 (NIV)

He will give you all you need from day to day if you live for Him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. Matthew 6:33 (NLT)

2. I Must Embrace My Role In The Family.
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Ephesians 5:21

Wives: Ephesians 5:22-24 (NIV)
Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.

Husbands: Ephesians 5:25-27 (NIV)
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy

each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Ephesians 5:33 (NIV)

Children: Ephesians 6:1-3 (NIV)
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"--which is the first commandment with a promise--"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

Fathers: Ephesians 6:4 (NLT)
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

Older Men: Titus 2:2 (NLT)
Exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience.

Older Women: Titus 2:3 (NLT)
Live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good.

Older Women Teach Younger Women: Titus 2:4-5 (NLT)
to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands (cross-reference Ephesians 5:21submit to one another), so that no one will malign the word of God.

Children Or Grandchildren: 1 Timothy 5:4 (HCSB)
But if any widow has children or grandchildren, they should learn to practice their religion toward their own family first and to repay their parents, for this pleases God.
