Alister Chapman is a freelance film maker that specialises in filming some of natures most extreme and spectacular events. In the winter months you'll find him in the artic enduring temperatures as low as -36c (-33f) fiming the northern lights. Then in the spring he travels the great plains of the USA seeking out severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. The summer means monsoon time in Arizona which brings incredible thunderstorms and then it's hurricane season. Alister shoots all his material in full HD using Sony XDCAM cameras as this allows him to shoot slow motion and timelapse. In over 3 years of using XDCAM HD and XDCAM EX, despite the harsh conditions he has yet to loose a clip, this year he will be using a pair of XDCAM EX's to film everything in 3D!
