In early 1914, nearly a century ago, St. Petersburg developer Noel Mitchell, known as the "Sand Man," began the first notable development at John's Pass, a settlement known as Mitchell Beach. This was the October 2013 edition of Heritage Village's "Speaking of History" lecture series featuring local historian Jim Schnur.
