The FEMTO 1100 metallographic semi-automated polishing head improves efficiency and reduces the cost of metallographic specimen preparation. The FEMTO 1100 is a 0-200 rpm variable speed polishing head. By running the FEMTO 1100 head in the same direction and speed as the NANO 1000T or NANO 2000T polisher, flatter specimens can be produced. Additionally, if the specimen has been properly mounted it is not uncommon to eliminate several planar grinding steps by starting the initial fine grinding step at 360 grit. Eliminating the initial coarser grinding steps results from individually applying the force to the sample vs. locking in multiple samples into a larger central force sample holder. The FEMTO 1100 polishing head has easy to use controls and is very economical. Offered by PACE Technologies, www.metallographic.com
