"Why Do The Demons Tremble?"
This is a study in "Text and Context." The Gospel of Grace is often called "easy believism." It is often flippantly challenged by the the statement, "Well, you know, the devils also believe and tremble," implying there must be more to Salvation than just faith in Christ. In fact, there is nothing easier than to believe that Christ took our place on the Cross and paid our sin debt. According to John 3:16, if we believe that, we are promised two things: we shall never (eternal security) perish (go to Hell); but, have everlasting life. It is very easy to accept what our Savior has done for us; BUT, the Cross was a difficult trial for our Lord. He did the hard part. It was not EASY for Him; but he did it with joy!
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
