What's up guys? Nick from Fit College.
Want a tip, I've got one for you; Deadlift barefoot or in socks. Now this isn't going to be a popular tip among mainstream gyms, however if you happened to work out at a gym that allows you to remove your Footwear then I suggest doing so. Now personally and this is purely anecdotal, when I perform a deadlift in socks or in barefoot I feel that I make a bit of connection with the ground. Now I'm flat footed so this is important for me to maintain that active arch. Reason being, that we need to push into the ground just as much as we pull on the bar in order to get to that full lockout position at the top.
Okay, so certainly give that a try if you're allowed to. Never mind the anecdotal stuff though why do out some practitioners and researchers suggest this as a way forward for some? Reason is that it can prevent an anterior weight shift allowing us to better engage our posterior chain.

I'll catch you next time
