Here I am using my Festool Rotex 125 and ETS 125 sanders in tandem to take a cabinet leg with bandsaw blade marks to a finish-ready state.
I start with 100, 120, and 180 grit sandpaper on the Rotex in geared rotex mode before switching to 180 and 220 in random orbit mode on the ETS125.
The leg is made of sapele.

I'm sure they are both great sanders but the item that got my attention was the quick action clamp, what a great time saver. Thanks.

You're welcome. Both are excellent sanders, but in combination they are outstanding.

Thank you for the demo, it is certainly going to help me decide which sander I want to go with.
Richard Leon
yes, the ETS is quieter, particularly when the rotex 125 is in rotex mode.
Is there any difference in the noise level between those two?
Richard Leon
That's my original MFT top, not a hardwood replacement.

i noticed you made yourself a hardwood top for your mft.did you cnc the 20m holes or eye ball it? quas dawgs and rail dawgs make the mft so much more accurate for using the rails.makes the cnc top worth the extra dolllars to me. into my second top now but i make sure i only cut 1 to2 mills max in to the top.eye balled it before.also wrote in pencil remember to check the depth on the saw.gone from a 10 mill piece to 20 mill and did not change the depth stop on the saw a few times on my old top.

i actually use my fein multi for agressive sanding then finish it with my festool ets or dts. owned the fein before i knew about the rotex. rotex is clunky to use but man does it peel paint or remove wood quickly. i demoed it. mirka is a nicer sander than the ets for finishing but not worth selling my ets to buy it. fein multi is not as quick at removing paint but you cannot cut nails or remove grout with the rotex and they are close to the same price. both are not good finishing sanders.

To little space to answer, but even so you did a great job in explaining. Thanks very much !
