http://ALLFloridaBeeRemoval.com Small Hive Beetle overtake my nuc box of honey bees in my Orlando, Florida bee yard. The larvae of these introduced beetles can decimate hives as they burrow through comb eating honey, pollen and bee brood (eggs, larvae & pupae). They also can ferment the honey stores, infecting it with yeast and bacteria present on their bodies. Honey can ferment and start pouring out of the combs within days, which is what happened to this nuc box. Notice the mass of beetle larvae and liquified honey pouring out of the box opening.
