Sung by Ian Page. I accompany myself on an English concertina built by Wheatstone & Co. The song's title suggests this is a sea shanty but it's not a working song at all. Instead it is a rather sweet song of maritime parting. The last verse might be melancholic or uplifting depending on your world view. It is a wonderful song to sing at the end of any 'pub session'.
The accompaniment is played on a vintage Wheatstone 'Pinhole' Aeola concertina.
