build IT Makerspace is the Library’s makerspace, and it is designed to foster creativity and innovation by providing an infrastructure for student-motivated do-it-yourself learning of technology.
build IT offers 3D printing, 3D scanning, and an array of other digital technologies to everyone at San Diego State.
You can submit a 3D printing request by visiting buildit.sdsu.edu (display link). If you need help designing something to print, feel free to swing by and we’d be happy to help you.
build IT is mostly staffed by Master Builders who are student volunteers from a variety of majors at SDSU, including engineering, art, computer science, and business.
We offer workshops regularly to promote the use of new technologies. If you attend a workshop, you will learn a new skill and walk away with something cool in the process.
As you can see, build IT is an exciting space where you can try out new technologies, build cool things, and learn along the way. Check out the build IT website (display link) to find information about upcoming events, the hours of operation, and how you can become a Master Builder.
