1962 release by the Daylighters with Gerald Sims on lead. Having left Michigan a couple years earlier, Gerald hooked up with the Daylighters and quickly produced 2 hits for the group. This track, and 'Cool Breeze' which eventually was released under Gerald's name alone. Super smooth cut, with the distinct guitar, and the doo-woppy feel that so many vocal groups still adhered to in the early 60's. Pittsburgh and Chi-Town loved this song. So does Pookie. Gerald left the Daylighters in '63, and soon became a most incredible session guitartist, arranger, and producer. He would be considered Carl Davis' right hand man at Okeh over the next few years, and continued working with Davis at Brunswick/Dakar. Visit Gerald's website Gerald Sims Music. A true legend of the Chicago Soul Scene.
