www.cigna.com | CIGNA's Video Customer Experience Series | Mark Evans never dreamed that his everyday work as an industrial engineer manager might be a challenge. In one day, a motorcycle accident changed everything.

After his accident Mark wanted to return to work, but was confined to a wheelchair with weak arm strength and no use of his fingers. Returning to the office was not an option, but returning to the job he loved was a goal that his CIGNA disability claim manager helped him achieve.

"I had been with the company for almost two decades and was really hoping that I could work out an arrangement that would allow me to work from home," said Mark. "I knew this would be an adjustment, but I wanted to explore my options and CIGNA helped me arrange the logistics to make it all possible."

Through his employer-provided CIGNA disability insurance ("CIGNA Group Insurance") and the innovative case management services offered, Mark was able to resume many activities of daily living and secure a work-at-home arrangement. His employer agreed to pay for voice-recognition software, and CIGNA provided a four-in-one combination printer, fax, scanner and copy machine for Mark's home office.

"The accident changed my life completely, but getting back to work also helped me get back a sense of normalcy," said Evans. "I'm really grateful to CIGNA for the assistance they provided throughout the process."

Mark's return-to-work success is just one example of how CIGNA helps people find fulfilling work after facing a disability.
