There are many perfectly adequate brands of commercially-made mayonnaise available, but making your own is easy, and it will save you lots of money. It also tastes better than shop-bought mayonnaise. I make my mayo using an immersion blender - also known as a stick blender. This is whole-egg mayonnaise, there's no need to separate your eggs. And once you have your mayonnaise, it's very easy to make tartare sauce with it.
