Way back in 2002 I was storyboarding all the commercials for Disney World. Nahtazu for Animal Kingdom was one of my favorites. I just ran across the actual commercial, produced by Jim Derusha of Alpha Wolf Productions so I edited my boards to the spot.
I worked on hundreds of Disney spots for Disney's inhouse ad agency, Yellow Shoes Creative. I would usually get a call on Friday afternoon to meet, go over 4-6 concepts with their art directors and writers and deliver the boards Monday morning.
When I originally did this spot, I only did a animatic to show the transition between the first two scenes as an example (shown here). I edited the rest of the piece to match the commercial.
It used to take so much longer to do simple animatics and make changes using After Effects. Now with Storyboard Pro it's a snap and super fast.
Luckily I still had my hi-rez scans to pull this comparison together quickly.
