One Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), two Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) and one MOA/MOU were signed with President Benigno S. Aquino III and His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah acted as the witnesses.

The first MOU signed is on Sports Cooperation, which aims to provide a framework under which the two countries shall consider proposals for programs on cooperation in sports development and excellence.

The second MOU is on Food Security and Agricultural Cooperation, which aims to set up a general framework in food security and agriculture, which is part of supporting the food basket initiatives under BIMP-EAGA.

The MOA is on Cooperation on Shipping and Ports, which aims to facilitate cooperation among government, private sector and state-owned companies to stimulate mutual investment and other forms of economic activity. This includes cooperative activities in shipping, ports, freight forwarding and human resource development.

The MOA/MOU is on Tourism Cooperation, which shall include exchanging of experiences, studies, experts, personnel and tourism programs, among others. This aims to promote and develop tourism in both countries by increasing tourist arrivals to or through the Philippines and Brunei.

The signing ceremony was held at Baitul Mesyuarah of Istana Nurul Iman, where Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario signed for the Philippine government, while Princess Masna, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, signed for Brunei government side.
