The Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA), a national initiative aimed at tackling the growing onset of dementia and related illnesses and improving the lives of Canadians with these illnesses, as well as their families and caregivers, brings together over 340 top Canadian researchers in the field of neurodegenerative diseases of aging. The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) talk about the importance of dementia research with Dr. Alain Beaudet, President of CIHR, Dr. Yves Joanette, CIHR Institute of Aging Scientific Director, Dr. Howard Chertkow, a cognitive neurologist and head of the CCNA, as well as Ross Cleary, a person with dementia and his wife and caregiver Sally. http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/46475.html
