Sonny Webster is a British weightlifter competing at 85kg. He won silver at the 2010 Commonwealth Youth Games and finished fourth in the 2011 World Youth Championships -- he was painfully close to claiming bronze, losing out by only four points.

He was voted British Olympic Association 'Olympic Weightlifter of the Year' after setting personal bests and record-breaking throughout 2011.

Webster has broken the British U-17 records in the 77kg and 85kg categories -- the latter has stood since 1994.

Sonny is looking to compete in the 85kg class in 2012 after a particularly successful Test Event in October 2011.

He thinks the home support and atmosphere for London 2012 will be amazing, as these Team GB athletes will never get the opportunity to compete at home again. This is why he thinks 2012 will be the pinnacle of his career, even ahead of 2016 where he is likely to be at his peak, as London 2012 will mean more in terms of representing Great Britain.
