Ahh.. the times when you could draft a player ready to compete at the highest level of NBA basketball just because he had spent 3 or 4 years at college. The lanky rookie of the year, Alvan Adams (who, for some reason, reminds me of Christopher Walken in The Deer Hunter, just look at 1:23), leads Phoenix to a Finals win thanks to his long range, nifty array of moves around the basket, ability to handle the ball and some quite beautiful passes for a big guy. He also had a lot of rebounds but, obviously, there's no way I can tell how many (unless I had counted them up.... damn it, now I have the urge to actually do this shit about which probably 5 people would care about). 1976 Finals, Game 3, May 30.
