Bangs can look great on a mature woman when they're wispy.

Heavy, blunt, or thick bangs on an aging face is not as complimenting.

Go for a bang that can be brushed with your fingers or can lay to the side, creating an interesting angle contrasting with your face. Straight bangs are too blunt as we age and may maximize what we really want to be minimizing, like fine lines and wrinkles. Blunt or straight, heavy or thick bangs can form a harsh contrast (straight lines) against a more mature face so they are best avoided as we age.

The best way to age gracefully is understanding we must change the way we look but not the way we feel about the way we look. We can always feel good about ourselves no matter what our age. A few adjustments in the way we prepare our appearance each day can make a big difference in aging gracefully or totally falling short of that idea.

As a 37 year old woman, I've learned that as I age, what used to look super cool on me now makes me look like a clown, someone who is trying to look young, or someone who's stuck in their youth desperately needing a catch-me-up-to-the-present makeover.

I realize, now I look better in neutral tones, earth tones, and more natural styles.

In my 20's I could wear the tighter fitting jeans, the neon pink top with big hair and bright lip stick with eye shadow to match. Now, not so much. I would get made fun of. Come to think of it, maybe I did then, too.

The moral of this story..be careful what you wear, it may come back to haunt you :)
