I needed to create a font file for notating shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) music. The first challenge was finding what tools to use to create it. I chose Inkscape, an open source (and free) tool that can be found at inkscape.org . I found some good documentation and a fontstarter.svg template file at http://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/20... to start with, added some personalization to the process and saved the new documentation at http://shakuhachi.atspace.cc/fonts.html . This video is intended to supplement the documentation on the shakuhachi website. My hope is that anyone creating font files with Inkscape will find this video useful.
