The celebrations were impromptu and palpable. A jubilation stretching from New York, to the US Naval academy, inside sports arena's and outside of the White House. The wild crowd reflecting something of a World Cup victory was cheering on the assassination of public enemy number one: 9/11 mastermind, Osama bin Laden. An American killing that inspired many mainstream media outlets to abandon objectivity and rejoice in "eye for an eye" justice.
