Featured on the evening air of KTLA (CW5), Ruth Swissa, owner of medical spa Ruth Swissa Permanent Makeup & Skin, takes KTLA through the emotional procedure of Areola Pigmentation (aka areola permanent makeup). This is a procedure that replicated the appearance of an areola, creating this 3d nipple effect. The areola pigmentation is an effective alternative to abrasive procedures such as nipple reconstruction, which can take a toll on post-breast cancer life. The areola tattoo is virtually pain-free and often times covered by insurance. This segment of KTLA Channel 5 Los Angeles covers the story of breast cancer survivor, Jessica Cotner. By using micropigmentation, Ruth Swissa was able to restore Jessica with a new set of 3d areolas and ultimately a restoration of self-esteem. Additionally, while Jessica was going through her chemotherapy, Ruth Swissa applied permanent makeup to enhance and restore her eyebrows.
