Visit www.LiveWithinOurMeans.com to send a message to Congress - NO MORE DEBT!

This story of "Dick and Jane" illustrates the financial crisis of the United States federal government. Our nation is trapped in a vicious cycle of overspending and then borrowing to make up the difference. Congress has raised the debt ceiling nine times since 2001.

In 2006, then Senator Barack Obama rightly challenged the Bush administration by voting AGAINST raising our nation's debt ceiling to $9 trillion. "The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure," he said in announcing his vote, adding that Washington was "shifting the burden of the bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren."

With the national debt now exceeding $14 trillion (about the same value as our entire Gross Domestic Product), the Obama administration SUPPORTS raising the debt ceiling. They warn of catastrophic consequences if Congress fails to act. The talk of government shutdowns and an economic collapse are reminiscent of similar hyperbole used to pass President Obama's economic "stimulus" and Obamacare. In reality, these "warnings" are nothing more than scare tactics designed to force Congress into authorizing more money to fund out-of-control spending programs.

The time to take a stand is now. Tell Congress to vote "NO" on raising the debt ceiling by visiting www.LiveWithinOurMeans.com and signing the petition. An email will be automatically sent to your specific members of Congress telling them to oppose this irresponsible action of once again authorizing the expansion of our massive debt. In the words of Barack Obama, let's put an end to shifting the burden of today's bad choices onto the backs of our children and grandchildren.
