Do It On The Roof (the campaign for public Green Roofs in Melbourne's CBD) presented at SLF2012. As part of their presentation, audience members were asked to write down suggestions for what they would like to do or see on a public green roof. These were passed up the front to Graphic Recorder Jessamy Gee who collated their ideas into an image in real time. Graphic Recording (or Scribing) is the process of visually recording a presentation, conversation or meeting using a combination of images and words to create a 'map' of key themes and ideas. It is, quite literally, the art of listening. More than just pictures, the process is a powerful tool in assisting analysis, dialogue, decision-making, brainstorming, conflict resolution and visualising strategy. It also creates a clear common understanding, sense of ownership, comprehension and memory tool for the participants. We are incredible at remembering pictures. Hear a piece of information, and three days later you'll remember 10% of it. Add a picture and you'll remember 65%.
