Movement has the power to change and enhance lives. This session will present movement programming (exercise, dance, fitness, therapeutic movement) in different stages of life - spanning infancy and early childhood through adulthood. Learn about research that demonstrates how an active lifestyle can improve health and well being. Experience and/or view video clips of Eddy's movement curricula for coping with challenges as diverse as attention deficit, cancer, bullying and school violence. Consider the policy work necessary to encourage more physical activity in education and in health settings.
Martha Eddy (Ed.D. '99), exercise physiologist, movement therapist, and dance educator; designs fitness programs for specialized health needs.
