Joan Burton, Minister for Social Protection, talks about her experiences with Draiocht over the last 10 years; the involvement of Michael D Higgins in the early days and how her letters to 20/30 people in Dublin West to see if anyone was interested in having an Arts Centre in Blanchardstown, lead to the Committee's decision to push for both an Arts Centre and a Library over 10 years ago, rather than just the initial idea of having a small gallery space in the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.

In conversation with Phoenix FM presenter Sharon Casey.

Many thanks to Phoenix FM who recorded Draiocht's 10th Birthday Event Live on the evening of 15 July 2011 and who provided permission to upload this part of the interview.
