The film was shot and edited over roughly 8 wks in July and August 2010. Shot entirely on a Canon 5D mkII (stills SLR with HD video built in), I originally simply wanted to show off the camera's film-making potential, but had zero budget, hence chose to shoot a music video, there being less to worry about without syncing sound. Having said that, I wrote the script around the lyrics and the pace of the song, which was difficult enough to match in. You can be the judge of whether we (Myself and Alex(Editor)) achieved this well enough to do justice to iko's beautiful song.
Encouragingly, iko's lead singer, Kieran Scragg, sent me this: "Great Video...Pass on our congrats to the actors too, they did a great job. I like the fact it captures the feel of the track - and ironically I wrote the words whilst listening to it in my car driving past the place it's named after (Longdown) in the rain. The rainy car shots made me smile. Thanks again, good work." Cheers Kieran, that means alot.
