Went on a rock hounding journey in central Oklahoma and found a few of the Rose rock. These were formed from barite chrystals back in the Permian age and get the red color from the red dirt of Oklahoma. Legond has it that the Rose rock also represents the blood of the Cherokee braves and the tears of the maidens who made the Trail of Tears journey in the 1800's. Getting harder to find but well worth the effort so if your in that area do some rock hounding for your rock collection!!
