Diabetic complications are the name given to when one or more parts of your body become damaged as a result of diabetes.

It's a scary prospect but we can help to prevent the onset of complications.

The main long term complications of diabetes include:

- Heart disease
- Kidney damage --known as nephropathy
- Eye damage --called retinopathy
- Nerve damage (known as neuropathy)
- Stroke
- Limb amputations
