This tour AWC developed with Google Earth visualizes the impact of high-intensity fires on Australia's savannah ecosystems and wildlife. It also shows the impact AWC's EcoFire Project has had in reducing the extent of wildfires through practical, science-based fire management. ***

AWC (www.australianwildlife.org) is an independent non-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation of Australia's threatened wildlife and habitats. We own 23 properties covering more than 3 million hectares. More than 67% of all Australian mammal species and over 80% of bird species are protected on the AWC estate.

Google Earth Outreach gives non-profits like AWC the resources to visualise their cause and tell their story in Google Earth and Google Maps.

*** Please also check out the other project AWC developed with Google Earth (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKVb8k...), a virtual tour of AWC sanctuaries that brings to life our fight to turn back the tide of extinctions for Australian wildlife.
