To make you smile . . . otherwise, it's how *not* to make this type of video. Hahaha! This is a Dutch Christmas song---don't mind my American-Antillean accent----I sang as a child. I was inspired by a rough, rock version of it I saw on YouTube.
Yowza! As a kid I'd just sing these things without thinking. Here's a (very rough) translation of the lyrics: In the middle of a winter's night, the heavens opened and brought salvation to the world, answering our hopes. Every bird sings its song. Shepherds, why aren't you singing? Hear the lyres. Play flutes, bells, drums. Christ is born.
Happy Holidays! Diwali, Hanukkah, Solstice, Christmas . . . In my mind they are all the same: the return of the light. I send you the best of wishes for the coming year!
