Sullivans Cove French Oak Cask Whisky has been judged the world's best single malt at the World Whisky Awards in London. The win in the whisky world's premier event caps a string of international achievements for Tasmania's 20-year-old distilling industry which is about to get its own map in Jim Murray's influential World Whisky Bible.
The stunning win by the Tasmanian distillery was reported in Edinburgh's up-market newspaper, The Scotsman, with headline screaming 'Best whisky in the world award goes to ... Tasmania.'
