James Cook competed in Mixed Martial Arts and full contact Muay Thai Kickboxing. James is a 2xs Golden Gloves Champion as well as an WKA, IKF, and IKC Muay Thai Kickboxing champion. He amassed over 75 fights during a career lasting more than 20 years. James has trained UFC champions such as Sean Sherk and Dan Henderson. James believes that his greatest accomplishments as a Muay Thai fighter were fighting at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand in 2002 and winning a Bronze Medal at The Princess Cup in Uttaradit, Thailand in 1995. During the commencement of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the U.S. Army hired James to teach Muay Thai kickboxing as part of the Modern Army Combatives program. James trained 5th Group Special Forces troops at Ft. Campbell, KY and 101st Airborne troops at Ft. Benning, GA.
