The EU funded study IMPROvED Study [Improving Pregnancy Outcomes through Early Detection] co-ordinated by Prof Louise Kenny, UCC aims to develop a predictive blood test for pre-eclampsia. The project will recruit 5,000 healthy first time mothers in 5 countries, 1,000 of whom will be recruited in CUMH. Participants must be less than 17 weeks pregnant. Having agreed to participate the woman will attend for two compulsory visits with a research midwife and will have the option to attend at two other additional visits.
