Many people are looking for Jesus today. So it was when Jesus was on earth in the flesh. When the Passover, the festival of the Jews, was close by, Jesus went for a retreat with his disciples. There, a large crowd came to him because they saw great signs he was performing. One of the remarkable miracles Jesus performed there was the feeding of five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish, and still, the leftover filled twelve baskets. When Jesus moved to the other side of the sea, the crowd came, looking for him. Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him" John 6:26-27 (NKJV). We need to set our priorities right. There are various reasons why people are looking for Jesus: for food, shelter, good job, marriage, wealth, - perishable things. Why are you looking for Jesus? These things are good but after getting them, what next? Jesus said, "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" Matthew 6:31-33 (NKJV).
