Custom designed walking robot mechanism, inspired by Theo Jansen's linkage. 3D printed. First test of small gearhead motor driving a set of four legs.

Linkage configuration was altered for this 8-leg design, with pairs of legs at 180 degrees of phase from each other. Step was widened a bit for stability.

Very small gearhead motor is being tried. It was only $3.64 at fasttech.com, and seems to have the torque to drive the legs. We will see how it does.

Electronics package was tested before mounting in walking robot chassis, but is not currently working. Will look into the problem. Motor and walking motion are being tested by direct connection to a power supply.

Note the pink Scünci silicone rubber-band hair-tie as a drive belt!
