UPDATE JULY 2012: I have changed my setup considerably since making this video; more on the audio side than anything else. I really need to make an updated video and will hopefully have one done within a week. I still use my PVR (although I know for most the Black Magic product will work wonders) but I want to show my stream settings as well as how I get my audio and XBL chat audio through my mixer into the recording. Easy stuff and not terribly expensive. Back soon with an update!

This is an update to an old video I produced several years ago where I showed how using a Slingbox HD Pro I was able to record my gameplay from my XBOX 360 onto my MacBook Pro and still be able to play in HD. Turns out using the Slingbox was more of a hassle than anything else, especially when it comes to streaming on sites just as Ustream or Justin.tv.

In this new tutorial I show all of you just how I have my setup going now. I have since ditched my Slingbox and went out and purchased a Hauppauge HD PVR and I could not be happier. Recording or Streaming in HD while playing in HD has never been easier. Cost is the same... $200.00 or less at Best Buy but the results are great. No additional software to buy either. For Mac users, Hauppauge offers a free download of a little program called HDPVRcapture and combining this with Camtwist and FlashMediaLiveEncoder you are all set to go like a pro! I absolutely love it. You can download HDPVRCapture at http://www.steventoth.net/hdpvrcapture

If I missed anything in this video, please let me know and I will make edits. I think I covered all the points. Comment away and visit our site (www.thegamerspulse.com) if this helped you. Happy recording!
