When Borders announced it was going out of business in 2011, I started secretly shooting video in different stores, preserving what the bookseller looked like in its death throes. I figured that I'd do something with the footage someday, but I couldn't really figure out what that would be. As it turned out, the first Borders I visited after the announcement had told me: When I went there that day, this song was playing over the store's music system. I'd never heard the track before, but it was almost like Borders was eulogizing itself, coming to terms with the coming end. This was one of the saddest projects I've put together, but if you enjoyed going to Borders now and then, hopefully it brings back a good memory or two for you.
