During March 2009, Kansas State University held the first ever Ecolympics in which greek houses competed against one another. During this competition fraternities and sororities reduced water and energy usage, recycled, conducted carbon footprint calcs, participated in Earth Hour, and came up with new and innovative ways to be green. At the Closing Ceremony they crowned the greenest fraternity and sorority.
