Japanese handmade noodles (soba) made from buckwheat flour which is then kneaded with a large rolling pin and hand cut. Soba can be eaten either warm in a broth or chilled with a dipping sauce. These noodles were filmed at Jindaiji Temple in Mitaka which is famous for its scores of noodle shops, many of which attract large crowds.
