This is Cong. Roilo Golez's interpellation during the hearing of the House Committee on Appropriations on the budget of the Department of Energy (DOE). Golez focused on renewable energy and asked why the DOE is programming only around 75 megawatts of solar power over the next twenty years. Golez cited major technological developments in the field of solar power where some are already projecting grid parity by 2015. This means that solar power would be as cheap as fossil fuel power in five years time and the Department must aggressively prepare for this.
