Horses are amazing animals with an inate ability to give us greater insight into ourselves.

This video, which debuted at WIHS 2015, focuses on EquiSpective, a unique program that uses the power of horses to teach communication, leadership, self-awareness and healing. We had the amazing opportunity to invite survivors from TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors), our military charity partner, to experience EquiSpective firsthand at Salamander Resort and Spa in Middleburg, Virginia, and Discovery Communications was there to capture the moment.

Using an innovative hands-on approach, participants connect with horses while exploring relationship awareness, communication style and leadership techniques under the guidance of Equestrian Director, Sheryl Jordan, who has devoted the past 40 years to better understanding the relationships between horses, humans and nature, which culminated in EquiSpective. This self-discovery program unites horse and human with the ultimate goal of developing extensive leadership expertise, regardless of one’s experience.

On the WashingtonHorseShow YouTube channel, we share top moments of the competition, special events and exhibitions, and the talented riders, young and old, and the wonderful horses that join us each October at Verizon Cnter in Washington, DC.

We'd love to have you subscribe and join us!
