Solid Fight!.... -------------- Jay Rosehill received a special gift on Saturday night.
The Maple Leafs forward had a spirited fight with the Ottawa Senators' Francis Lessard, a personal grudge match that goes back to their days in the minors. It was one of the better scraps at the Air Canada Centre in some time, and happened to come when more than 400 members of the Canadian Forces were in attendance.
After the game, the Leafs players met the troops on the ice. One was so impressed with Rosehill's fist work that he ripped his Canadian Rangers patch from his shoulder and handed it to Rosehill. The Leaf was stunned.
"You bet I was," Rosehill, a native of Olds, Alta., said. "He pulled it off, and said: 'This took me a long time to get, but I want you to have it.'
"They are dealing with real-world stuff and we're all tucked away here all safe and sound. They are the ones putting themselves on the line and we're just playing a game for a living. It shows you what kind of people they are."
