Apple is refusing to accept that there is something wrong with my brand new iPhone 5S. I spoke to someone at the AppleCare Support Center and he asked me to create this video to prove to him that there is a problem with my device.

This is a brand new iPhone 5S with the latest iOS 7.1.1. There are no third party applications installed on it. I'm convinced that this is a hardware issue, but for some reason Apple isn't. They basically returned me back my iPhone refusing to acknowledge the problem and replace or repair it.

I've been using iPhones for many years now. This is my third one and I'm disappointed with the quality of this particular device. What angers me more is the way Apple is handling this situation.

This is not the Apple user experience I'm used to.

UPDATE: An hour after posting this video I got a call from the Apple reseller letting me know that they would be sending someone over to collect my iPhone and would give me a new one soon. The power of social media. :-)

HEY, So... I just recently tried this. There's a whole thread on apple forums about this problem. I had this problem after updating to the new ios7 so annoying. anyways the trick I did for now my back side camera is working because all I did was PUSH DOWN REALLY HARD on the top right corner of the phone where the camera is. I was pushing with my thumbs and fingers on the backside camera and then I restarted it with the home and lock button and when it turned on it works.... I don't know how long it'll last but try it out.

+Radko Vattai Pressing didn't work for me, so I opened the phone up to discover that the camera had become disconnected. I connected it back and that solved the problem. I see how pressing really hard can have the same effect with some luck, but I would rather do this more elegantly and not risk cracking the screen.

Unbelievable! Nice work Apple! You should blog about it Deelip, then forward a link to Apple. It was the only way I got some resolution with an issue on my HP ZBook 15. In the end, they acknowledged a fault with all the ZBooks worldwide, one which hadn't come up until I had got them to recognize it. But it took a long time of playing their game and repeating myself. They were actually pretty good on the whole though.

I'm giving the Apple reseller a last chance to salvage this.

+Bobbi Coleman basically you put your thumb over the side with the screen and your pointer finger over the camera and gently press... It worked for me and if the camera freezes just repeat the process and the camera should work again

the problem of the phone not coming on right away could be a connection issue between the screen cables and the motherboard. so whoever put that together before packaging didn't do a great job with it. secondly, the camera itself inside the phone could be faulty. they have camera replacements at Amazon for like $5 and it's an easy fix as well. or it could be the whole motherboard itself could be faulty.
