Normal elevators advise passengers against using the elevator in an event of a fire. However, this bank of elevators allow passengers to use them as part of fire evacuation procedures.
In Australia, they are known as "Protected Elevators" and have to meet extra standards and reinforcement to keep guests safe in an emergency. This is the first of its kind I have observed and this makes them a unique installation, even though the interior cab appears to be similar to any other installations.
