The Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life star spoke exclusively to WhoSay for our The Power of Influence series about a potential follow-up to the Netflix series, his band Smith Radio, and what was like to come back to Stars Hollow...almost a decade later.

"If Amy and Dan send me the phone book and say 'let's shoot this,' I'd say yes because it's going to be entertaining, they wrote it," said Patterson about the possibility of returning for more Gilmore Girls.

The actor-musician was already his eager self when he met singer, songwriter, and poet Patti Smith—perhaps, his biggest musical influence—back at New York City's CBGB as a passionate teenager. "I had to meet her," said Patterson who then approached her asking if he could audition for her band.

And even though he didn't get the job, due in part to his youth, Patterson went on to develop a musical career that started by writing songs as a 13-year-old, and continues with Smith Radio, the band whose single "HAHA Song" is now available in all major downloading platforms including iTunes, Google, and Amazon.
