0:15 Starts off with Dr. Jane Goldberg saying that in the past sessions a group member felt that she was against expressing themselves. Jane says you can't be a modern analyst and not believe in expressing feelings and put them into language. Our ability to use language is what makes us surpass all other animals. Barbara starts the group about straight women turning gay 3:40 but eventually gets to what is really bothering her saying that she suffers from complicated bereavement due to the death of her mother. Jane tells her how to get over it but doubts Barbara will listen. 14:00 (9:30 Jane explains our purpose being here together). 10:00 Jane asks if Molly has been in therapy as her definition is so good....."I run away from my feelings" says Barbara at 15:00 "I feel I murdered my mother." 18:00 "Pure feeling put into language is a gorgeous crystalline structure." 19:30 Jane asks Paul to "take on" Barbara in this moment. Jane asks if Barbara tells her story about her mother (yet again according to Kay) that she do it talking TO her (and the group) vs a series of facts 25:00 but Jane says it will have to wait until the next session until we hear from Adrian and Carol. Stay tuned for Barbara's breakthrough session 17!
