This is the first part of a fairly comprehensive guide to bondage safety that covers all the basics in an easy to follow manner from my tutorial DVS 'Japanese Rope Bondage: Tying people, not parcels'. I believe that such information should be available to everyone. In fact, if you start tying without knowing the fundamental safety precautions it is all too easy to hurt somebody.
